ZAH - IPAG - MPIA Colloquium

Welcome: Following the success of our first edition, we organize the second Heidelberg-Grenoble inter-institutes workshop which aims at reinforcing and supporting the collaborations between the Max Planck Institute for Astronomy of Heidelberg (MPIA), the Center for Astrophysics of Heidelberg (ZAH), in Germany, and the Institute of Planetology and Astrophysics of Grenoble (IPAG). These institutes gather experts and leaders in Europe in the field of stellar and planetary formation theory, observation and modelling. The topic of this second colloquium will be dedicated to the "Stellar formation &  Early-phases of planetary formation". During tese two-days colloquium, our wish is to emulate scientific discussions and interactions between researchers and students. On a long-term basis, we hope to prepare the scientific exploitation of upcoming European instruments and strengthen our common leadership on a competitive international scene.

Location & Date: Ringberg, October 13th-14th, 2014

Scientific Organizing Committee: A. Bacmann, M. Benisty, H. Beuther, J. Bouwman, K. Dullemond, E. Moraux, D. Semenov, M. Feldt & G. Chauvin (Chairs)

Scientific Topics:

  • Massive star to substellar formation
  • IMF characterization
  • Multiplicity study
  • Dynamical evolution
  • Outflow & accretion processes
  • Circumstellar environments & planetary formation
